BELIZE: George Bevier

It is not often that AP features a WAISer, and George Bevier must wish it was not he. He and his wife Corol attended the WAIS conference, and they are good friends of Jaqui White. The run the beachfront Rum Point Inn, 70 miles south of Belize City, once the capital. When it was largely destroyed by a hurricane, the capital was moved inland to Belmoran. I have never been to Rum Point Inn, but I am told it is an attractive spot, and a good base for tours of Mayan ruins, which George and Corol conduct. The coast has been hit by a category 4 hurricane of which scenes have been shown on TV news. George and Corol decided to move inland with their staff and guests. They have our sympathy, and we would like to have news of them.
