ANTHROPOLOGY: Lost Civilizations

John Wonder says: "I can understand antiquarian interest in cultural entities that went on and developed into modern societies; but primitive cultural entities that petered out seem to hold little significance."

My comment: They interest most people; Troy comes to mind. Why did they disappear? Did they leave any trace? What happened to the Canaanites?
