World reaction to attack on Afghanistan
Whatever we think about the Afghan war, we should have a clear perception of world opinion, as expressed not by street mobs but by responsible people. From the UK, John Heelan has sent a long analysis of the views of responsible Muslims. In brief, they say that the US has not given convincing proof that bin Laden was behind the catastrophes and are not willing to trust US assertions that it has such proof I thought that bin Laden has publicly stated that he was behind the attacks, but he may have been boasting. The Zionist Lobby in the US is well organized and vocal, but Arab world has no similar organization. However, it has an excellent US spokesman in Edward Said, who on TV gave a lot of facts which disprove what he considers Jewish misrepresentations.
