Medical Services is the first stop for the diagnosis and treatment of illness, injury, and ongoing conditions, as well as for preventive health counseling and education (e.g., cholesterol screening and lifestyle modification).

Important Instructions for Your Appointment
- Arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of time.
- For an appointment where no fees apply, check in at the computer in the lobby and then proceed to the appropriate waiting area.
- For visits where fees do apply, check in with the receptionist in our lobby (i.e., physical therapy, injections, etc.) and then proceed to your visit.
- Bring any medications you are currently taking.
- Bring any relevant medical records.

- Cancel an appointment any time online at Vadenpatient Online (you will need your SUNet ID)
- Call (650) 498-2336, extension 1 to speak to a receptionist.
- If Vaden is closed, call (650) 498-2336, extension 1. When the recording starts, press 3 and leave a message.
Well-person physical examinations
Physical examinations to meet special needs - for employment, scholarships, programs abroad, etc. - are offered at Vaden.
Depending upon the complexity of the physical examination you need, the maximum fee is $155 (does not include xray or immunizations). The fee for an xray is $75 while the fee for immunizations vary. Please call us to schedule an appointment.
After-Hours Medical Services
Medical advice is available for urgent conditions that cannot wait until the clinic opens. Call (650) 498-2336, extension 1 and our answering service will page the on-call physician. Hours.

Flu Vaccine available
Who should get vaccinated?
In general, all faculty, University staff, emeritus faculty, retired staff, students and spouses/domestic partners who want to reduce their chances of getting the flu can get vaccinated. However, it is recommended that persons with certain high-risk medical conditions who are at risk for complications from influenza get the vaccine.
How do I get the vaccine?
Attend one of the following Vaden Flu Clinics.
Vaden Flu Clinics will be held on the following Mondays, 3:00 – 6:00 pm:
Oct. 13, 20, 27
Nov. 3, 10, 17
Dec. 1, 8
The cost for the immunization is:
Students with Cardinal Care $12
All others who pay $24
University employees will not be charged for the vaccine. (Please bring your Stanford employee ID.) Spouses/domestic partners of University employees can receive the vaccine at Vaden for $24. The term “employee” includes faculty, staff, emeritus faculty, retired staff, medical school and research faculty and staff. It does not include Stanford Hospital & Clinics employees.
Medical students must show their Medical Student ID to receive the vaccine free of charge.
