Toshio Kawahra
Toshio Kawahara was born in Osaka, Japan. He received a ph.D. degree in Physics from Kyoto University. His Ph.D. thesis was “Electric-field effect on transport and superconducting properties of YBa2Cu3O7-x”. In National Defense Academy, he was interested in the optical properties both of superconductors and semiconductors. Thermoelectric semiconductors are also studied. Then, in Osaka University, he worked in the nanotechnology research to fabricate the devices including carbon nano tubes and so forth. He is presently a Professor of Center of Applied Superconductivity and Sustainable Energy Research (CASER) at Chubu University. His research interests are the realization of applied superconducting world using nanotechnology and thermoelectric semiconductors etc.
