Urban Styles is committed to learning and performing L.A.-style jazz routines. These dances are created to highlight the main elements the group focuses on: style and technical ability. Choreography comes from both Stanford undergraduates within the group, as well as professional choreographers from Los Angeles and San Francisco. Music selection ranges from pop artists to Broadway musicals. Style ranges from Lyrical to Thrash Jazz.
Urban Styles has performed at various venues including Stanford's Orientation "O-Show", An Art Affair, Cardinal Ballet's "Urban Nights", Jam Pac'd's "Hip Hop Extravaganza", dv8's "enCounterCulture", Admit Weekend Dance Expo, as well as our own Spring Show held each May since 2004.
