STANFORD UNION
OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS ORGANIZATIONS

The UNION's Purpose
The Stanford Union allows campus Public Affairs organizations to integrate their activities and draw from a base of  financial and human resources.

The Union:

holds regular meetings and informal events with representatives of all the Member Organizations.

sets up an online information clearinghouse which lists all planned activities by individual groups.

coordinates projects between the Member Organizations,
    appointing a Project Director, and
offering funds, volunteer help, publicity, and supplies.

acts as a liaison between Member Organizations and the Administration,
informing the Administration of the activities of the Member Organizations, and
relating requests and ideas from the Administration to the Member Organizations.

distributes basic informational material for the Stanford community about opportunities for involvement in public affairs activities.

Any campus organization which deals with public affairs is encouraged to join the Union.  By doing so its representatives have a chance to meet with members of similar organizations.  The representatives can coordinate activities and share ideas about public affairs issues, involve their organization in larger-scale projects, and ensure their organization a place in the public life of the University.
