Our current project: a visit by

Yuriy Andrukhovych

Open lecture at Stanford: April 10-th (Tuesday) 2001, 4:30 PM

--- details in English --- ---details in Ukrainian---

The lecture is sponsored by ASSU, CREES and the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures.

Andrukhovych is a prominent Ukrainian writer whose books most of us love dearly. This year his visit to US is supported by a Fulbright Scholarship. Working at Pennsylvania State University he will translate American poets of 50-th and 60-th into Ukrainian. Our association organized a visit of Mr. Adrukhovych to give several talks at Stanford in April, 2001.

In Ukraine Andrukhovych is known as a one of the strongest figures - almost a cult writer - of the new literature that took off the ground due to political ease of late-80th and independence of 1992. You will also find his presence in the English speaking world:

You can also read his biography at Yuriy Anrukhovych fan-club page.

Funding Matters

Thanks to Natalya Riabokon, the funding for the visit was secured in October, 2000. The budget of the project consists of the following articles:
