Voluntary Student Organization (VSO) Constitution


Name of organization:
	Ukrainian Student Association at Stanford (USAS)

Statement of purpose:
* To strengthen the contact between the Ukrainian students at Stanford 
* To develop awareness of the Ukrainian culture, history, literature,
 politics, etc. within the Stanford community
* To promote cooperation of the Ukrainian students with other student
 groups and associations within Stanford 

Eligibility for membership:
	USAS membership is open to all registered students and staff
 members who share organization’s goals and objectives. Only registered
 students have right to vote. Each member is expected to contribute
 to the development of USAS by realizing the projects of his or her own choice.

Officers:

	President is responsible for developing the strategy of 
organization's activities and funding priorities subject for
subsequent approval by at least two thirds of the members of USAS.

	Treasure is responsible for overseeing the financial
 transactions of the Association including budget formation in
 accordance with established funding priorities, fundraising,
 ASSU account. Treasure is responsible for making the information
 on all financial activities of USAS transparent and accessible
 to all of its members.

      Calendar administrator is responsible for advertising the
 events within Stanford community and for posting the events on the
 Events@Stanford web calendar.	

      Officers are elected for a one-year term at the general meeting
 by the simple majority of the members with at least three quarters
 of the members present. Any member can be elected president or treasure
 for no more then two terms and is removed from the office after the
 expiration of the term or by the decision of at least two thirds
 of the USAS members. 

Dissolution of organization:
	USAS can be dissolved by unanimous vote of all current members.
 In case of the dissolution all the remaining property of USAS must 
be transferred to CREEES to contribute to the development of the 
Ukrainian Studies at Stanford University.

Procedure to amend constitution: 
	The constitution can be amended by the vote of at least tree
 quarters of the members of USAS.
