Peripheral immune responses in neurodegeneration The immune system patrols the brain and growing evidence suggests that neurodegeneration is associated with abnormal immune responses not only in the CNS but in the periphery as well. We use proteomic tools to study immune responses and the cellular communication network (“communicome”) in plasma during aging or neurodegeneration in mice and humans.
