Course details including Port of Redwood City Water Quality information

The Sixth Annual Stanford Treeathlon returns for a third year in the Port of Redwood City in Redwood City, California. Collegiate, age group and relay options are available.

The Treeathlon is the primary fundraiser for the Stanford Triathlon Team. Funds raised from the race sustain our mission to raise awareness of the sport and to expose students to triathlon at an early age.

The Treeathlon is also Stanford University's contribution to the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Conference (WCCTC) race series, and we will have separate collegiate and non-collegiate divisions for entry.

Location

The races will kick off from 1600 Seaport Blvd in Redwood City.

Directions:

From Highway 101 North or South, take the Woodside Road / Seaport Blvd exit - you want to go NORTH on Seaport Blvd. Head all the way to the end of Seaport Blvd to the Office park at the end, where you will see a big sign for "Pacific Shores Center". Please look carefully for the signs after entering the Pacific Shores Center complex. You will turn right and drive on the inside lane. Follow signs for the appropriate parking. See a parking map here. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE PACIFIC SHORES CENTER.

From I-280 North or South, take the Woodside Road exit, and follow Woodside Road NORTH until it crosses under 101 and becomes Seaport Blvd. From there follow the directions above.

Please note that within the Pacific Shores Center, you will always drive counterclockwise on the inside lane.

Parking

Athlete and volunteer parking are in the 1500 and 1600 parking lots, ~0.5 mile on the left after entering the Pacific Shores Center. The transition area is just across the athlete and volunteer parking lots, and is labeled in green in the parking map. Spectator parking is half-way around the loop at 1300 Seaport Blvd. There is a grassy area next to this lot that makes an excellent spot to view the bike course!

Parents of Saplingathlon participants are welcome to park at athlete parking (1500/1600 Seaport Blvd), just across the street from the race start!

For more details, have a look at the Parking Map.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE PACIFIC SHORES CENTER.

Packet Pick-Up

Packet Pickup will be on Saturday, February 27th, from 2-8 pm at Ford/Burnham Pavilion on the Stanford Campus.

For the full Treeathlon, there will be no packet pickup the day of the race; however, race-day registration will be available for the Saplingathlon.

Packet pickup parking directions:

From the 101: Take exit 402 to merge onto Oregon Expressway. Turn right on El Camino. Turn left at Serra St.
From the 280: Take the Page Mill / Arastradero exit. Turn left at Page Mill. Turn left at Foothill Rd. Make the first right at Stanford Ave. Turn left on Bowdoin. Turn right on Campus Drive. Turn left on Serra St.

To assist you with finding packet pickup, this link describes the best places on campus. There are two parking lots near to the pickup location. You may also park along the streets adjacent to the building. There are no parking restrictions on campus after 4 pm, but we recommend first checking the lots shown here. Parking for Ford/Burnham Pavilion is on the last block before the bollards. If you turned left off Serra, you've gone too far. After 4pm you can park anywhere along Serra, Galvez or in the lots marked blue on the map.

The entrance is on the other side of the building. It is not directly on Serra St. You will need to go around to the the Ford entrance. There will be signs to direct you.

Wetsuit Rental

Although the Stanford Treeathlon does not have an official wetsuit sponsor, we as a team have had very pleasant experiences renting wetsuits from Sports Basement in Sunnyvale.
