The Stanford Savoyards is a student-run theatre company open to the public for cast and crew. We have proudly been presenting the light operas of Gilbert and Sullivan on the Stanford University campus since 1973. Typically the Stanford Savoyards produce two fully-staged operettas with orchestra per season.

The Sorcerer

In the village of Ploverleigh, Alexis Pointdextre is so overjoyed by his impending marriage to Aline Sangazure that he hires the sorcerer John Wellington Wells to create a magic potion that will bring "pure and lasting happiness" to everyone in the village. But mischievous spirits and unpredictable magic interfere, throwing Alexis's plans awry and transforming everyone's lives in unexpected and hilarious ways. Spirits and demons, enchantment and mayhem abound in this early work from the creators of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE and THE MIKADO. One weekend only!
