Wednesday Morning Breakfast

Each Wednesday morning, about six Thetas wake up bright and early (around 6:45am) to prepare pancakes and eggs to serve at the Opportunities Center, a Palo Alto homeless service center. We serve these men and women breakfast and get back in time for class!

Theta Breakers

Theta Breakers is the single-most significant philanthropic contribution Theta makes to the community each year. Every fall, Theta organizes a 5K walk/run and a 10K run that takes place on Stanford's campus and raises money for Child Advocates of Silicon Valley, part of a nationwide network of 900 programs that mentors and speaks for abused and neglected children who have been temporarily placed under the supervision of the court system for their own safety. Theta Breakers is one of the largest charitable contributions made by any other Greek organization in the country, and Kappa Alpha Theta has donated over $200,000 to Child Advocates in the last 10 years. Crush Grams

The week leading up to Valentine's Day, Theta teams up with the gentlemen of Sigma Chi for Crush Grams in White Plaza. Students, faculty and staff can pay $2 to write a message on a glass bottle of Crush soda, which will secretly be delivered the night before Valentine's Day. Recipients of Crush Grams can then pay $1 in White Plaza the following day to discover the identity of the sender. Senders can pay an extra dollar upon purchasing to keep their identity a secret. All proceeds go to purchasing supplies for Wednesday Morning Breakfasts.

Trick or Treat for Cans

On Halloween, Thetas go door-to-door with members of SAE, asking people in the community to donate canned goods for families in need.

As members not only of Theta but of the entire Greek community, we understand the importance of supporting other Greek organizations' community service endeavors.
