The Stanford-Thai Exchange Program is a three-week exchange program held at Stanford University in California, USA. The program takes place in April, during which college students in Thailand have their summer vacation. As such, it is one of the best ways students can spend their summer! The program offers a unique opportunity to be engaged in both cultural and intellectual exchanges, as students will essentially become an integrated part of the Stanford community for three weeks.
Once at Stanford, students will have access to Stanford’s vast resources and facilities—its 23 libraries, cutting-edge laboratories, internet archives, to name just a few. Moreover, they will learn about entrepreneurship through a speakers’ series featuring eminent venture capitalists and entrepreneurs. They will also have the opportunity to visit various startup companies in the area, including some world-renowned names such as Facebook. With guidance from academic peer mentors, they will employ these resources to research and implement their business ideas, which they will present at the end of the program.
The program is organized by the Thai-American Intercultural Society (THAIS), a registered student group in Stanford University, and not by the University itself.
