Hello businesswomen,
As we finish up the year this quarter we have a bit of activity. The "I don't know" to CEO Conference was a success with over 300 attendees, 9 corporate sponsors, 11 student group sponsors, and 25 speakers. Thanks for all who attended! We worked hard over the past quarter to produce the conference. For those who are interested, we will be searching for next year's coordinators soon.
Along the lines of looking for next year...We are now accepting applications for the Stanford Women in Business Executive Board and Leadership Core. Descriptions and applications are available online at: www.stanfordwomeninbusiness.com
There are many exciting events going on this quarter in the Stanford Community - The Women's Leadership Conference is April 28. The first 5 members who e-mail president@stanfordwomeninbusiness.com will be able to have their registration fee waived ($10 value). There are also 2 entrepreneurial summits this week: ASES & SELA. Please look at the Upcoming Events announcements.
We'll be taking a short break from events for now - but for those who missed the conference we will be having one of the speakers, Katherine Barr - the speaker of the Art of Negotiation Session - will give an exclusive SWIB presentation later in the quarter. More on that in the next newsletter.
As always, please e-mail us at president@stanfordwomeninbusiness.com with any questions, comments, or concerns - we'd love to hear from you!
Dana & Heidi

Past Events Recap
Stanford Women in Business' first annual Business Conference, "I don't know to CEO,"cohosted by Stanford Women in Business and many of Stanford's Pre-Professional Organizations, took place this Saturday, April 7th. A terrific turnout of over 300 attendees gathered to hear from Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn for a keynote lecture, then broke up for lunches with conference sponsors. Attendees spoke over sandwiches with leaders from Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Cisco Systems, Symantec, McKinsey, and EA about internships and job opportunities for the future. Each attendee visited two afternoon panels with topics ranging from "Business Trends in Latin America" to stepping "Inside the Boardroom." A networking session complete with hors d'oeuvres rounded off a day full of learning about the tools needed to succeed in business.
Stanford WIB enjoyed a lively discussion with GAP's May Saunders about the many different jobs available to those interested in corporate fashion. She spoke from her own experience in holding many different positions within GAP, and offered insight into the difference between corporate life at a company like GAP and careers in consulting and investment banking. All SWIB members are encouraged to attend Business Bites sessions, which let members get up close and personal with successful businesswomen like Mary Saunders.
