Society of Women Engineers (SWE) - Stanford Section
As a collegiate section of the national organization, Stanford SWE’s programming falls under the mission objectives as stated by National SWE:
- Stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders.
- Expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life.
- Demonstrate the value of diversity.
In addition to fulfilling the national SWE mission, Stanford SWE also holds to her own specific set of goals:
- Promote the study of engineering and engineering fundamentals to our local youth through outreach work.
- Provide career and academic development opportunities for our collegiate members.
- Enhance the diversity of the Stanford engineering community.
- Provide members with special opportunities, privileges, and other perks.
On a more personal level, Stanford Society of Women Engineers is composed of a group of enthusiastic and talented Stanford students (both women and men!) who are interested in promoting engineering diversity within our campus and local community. We are interested in working with any individual or group that shares our passion for the promotion of engineering, diversity, and community. All members of the Stanford community are welcome to join!!
