The YWCA Sexual Assault Center at Stanford offers immediate individual counseling and referral to students who are affected by sexual assault, sexual harassment, and violence in relationships.

Campus PoliceStanford Public Safety Officers are specially trained to respond appropriately to survivors of sexual assault. Survivors are encouraged to discuss reporting options with them to make a more informed choice about whether or not to file a police report.

Resources for Students
Medical Services at Vaden Health Center offers diagnosis, treatment, and referrals for medical complications of sexual assault, and for violence-related problems. Survivors are urged to seek appropriate medical evaluation as promptly as possible. Female clinicians are also available for evaluations and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (including HIV), and pregnancy. Contact (650) 723-4841
Counseling and Psychological Services offers individual counseling and referral to individual students and couples who are affected by sexual assault, sexual harassment, and violence in relationships. Counseling can be a good idea as it may stop the violence before it begins. Workshops and Groups are offered by Counseling and Psychological Services for survivors of rape and women survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Health Promotion Services’ Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention program offers services to create an environment free of sexual assault and harassment. Services include dorm outreach programs, the production of the REAL WORLD STANFORD, self defense classes, individual consultations, and referral to resources on and off campus.

Residential Staff Residence Deans are professional staff who are available to assist student survivors. They provide resources and may also support victims fact finding, and evaluation. Your PHEs, RAs and Cas are also excellent resources.

Graduate Life Office Graduate Resident Deans and CAs work with students and student families who live in graduate residences. They help provide support, information and referrals to those dealing with sexual violence.. Depending upon availability, they can arrange short term emergency housing and help provide basic necessities.

Family and Children Services provides couples and individual counseling to Individuals and families. It has an excellent counseling program for families being affected by domestic violence.

Support Network for Battered Women offers a 24-hour crisis line and shelter for battered women and children for up to six weeks. A clinical staff provides counseling. Support groups and peer counseling are also available. Services include help for battered lesbians, a temporary restraining order clinic, and Spanish-speaking counselors.

W.O.M.A.N., Inc. in San Francisco has a 24-hour crisis line, support groups and drop-in groups, lesbian domestic violence groups, individual counseling, and a temporary restraining order clinic. They also make referrals made to local shelters as well as to bilingual counselors (Cantonese, Japanese, Spanish, and Farsi).

Community Solutions offers 24-hour crisis intervention and a battered women's shelter (La Isla Pacifica). Counseling, support groups, social services, and advocacy are available along with temporary restraining order assistance and help locating permanent housing.

Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence offers a 24-hour crisis line, crisis counseling, permanent housing assistance, and legal help. An on-site school, support groups, batter's counseling and drug/alcohol counseling are provided at the shelter.

Asian Women's Home gives referrals for legal and medical services, and has counseling and support groups. It offers help with child care, employment and housing. Bilingual counselors are available.

A Safe Place in Oakland group offers a 24-hour crisis line. It has counseling, advocacy, legal and social services. It helps with housing and child care. It also offers an eight-week shelter program for battered women and their children. Counselors speak Spanish.
