Stanford Women's Ultimate

Superfly had an amazing weekend at Nationals in Boulder, Colorado. We fought hard in our pool play games, just barely missing a chance to advance to prequarters with a 12-14 loss to Michigan. However, Superfly didn't let early losses get us down. We arrived on the fields on Sunday ready to play our best and have a great time at our last games of the year. We ended our season on two wins against Humboldt and Wisconsin, leaving us with a tie for 13th place at the tournament!


When we weren't playing, Superfly enjoyed cooking team dinners together, using ice baths and saunas to relax sore muscles, playing on playgrounds, going on a walk to a waterfall, and spending time with our fans! Thank you so much to all the family and friends who have supported us all season by carrying our heavy coolers around the field, making sure our tent was set up with an adorable Superfly banner before we even arrived at the fields, making fantastic Superfly capes for us, and checking Score Reporter incessantly for the tournaments when they couldn't be there with us. We love you fans!

Superfly is so proud of Michela Meister for being selected to the 2012 All-American team! This is a huge honor, and means that Michela's been recognized as one of the top 14 college women's ultimate players in the country. Check out the Sky'd Magazine article introducing the team. Superfly just got back from an exciting, intense weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona. We played 8 hard-fought games in the 90 degree weather and came away with the Southwest region's 5th bid to college nationals. Thank you so much to all the parents, friends, and the men of Bloodthirsty who tirelessly supported us, kept us cool and hydrated, and helped us get to Nationals!

Superfly is excited to play in the Stanford Invitational Tournament this weekend! This is our only home tournament all year, so if you're in the Stanford area, we would love to have you come support us! Friends, parents, alumni, and anyone else interested in ultimate are encouraged to stop by at any time during the tournament and find out what Superfly is all about.

Here is our tentative schedule:

• Saturday, March 3
  • 8am vs. UCLA
  • 10am vs. UCSB
  • 2pm vs. Pittsburgh
• Sunday, March 4
  • 8am vs. Washington
  • 9:45am vs. Carleton
  • 11:30am vs. Tufts

All of our games are on the South IM fields, which are the fields right off of El Camino Real.
