The Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP) is a nationally renowned, innovative program leading to a Master of Arts in Education and a preliminary California teaching credential. Read the STEP Mission Statement.

STEP Class of 2011 applications are due Monday, January 5th. We are actively recruiting World Languages & Cultures educators (French, German, Japanese, Mandarin or Spanish)

Thanks to a generous grant from the Ameson Foundation, STEP is launching a Mandarin program beginning in June 2010. Applications are due January 5, 2010.

STEP shares the position of the National Academy of Sciences, affirming that biological evolution is the central organizing principle of modern biology. See National Academy of Sciences (2008). Science, Evolution, and Creationism.

One of five chosen Teacher of the Year in California, Kelly Kovacic (AM '02) teaches Social Studies to low-income student populations. She also was selected as California’s nominee for the prestigious National Teacher of the Year competition.
