At the time Ghia Euskirchen took this iPhone shot, she was Director of the DNA Sequencing Program at the Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine in the Department of Genetics. The Red-tailed Hawk had "swooped out from a grove of trees" and landed about 10 feet from her while she was walking on a footpath near the Quarry Road and Campus Drive intersection not far fro the Med School.
