"The professors were not looking at how many times you can get the right answers by using the same method. They wanted us to question the basis of the methods and concepts so we are better able to see the concepts as being ‘alive’. Having this perspective enables me to be more versatile when coming up with solutions to engineering challenges."

Faculty

SSP faculty possess considerable expertise in teaching and research. Faculty members are drawn from :

  • the Division of Environmental & Water Resources Engineering, School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, NTU.
  • the Environmental & Water Studies Program, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Stanford.

Visiting faculty members from Stanford to NTU will also conduct MS courses and supervise SSP doctoral research students. Thus, SSP students will have ample opportunities to interact with professors from both universities during their program of study.

With respect to teaching, Stanford faculty are engaged in designing and delivering lectures and assignments which leverage this rare opportunity to blend viewpoints of students in different contexts. The aim is to provide a richer and more well-rounded experience to the students.
