The Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Philharmonia Orchestra are Stanford’s premier symphonic orchestras, and consist of Stanford undergraduates, graduate students, faculty and staff, and the local community. Auditions are open to all members of the Stanford community; although students are given priority, we also welcome musicians from the local and non-Stanford community. SSO also hosts the Stanford Summer Orchestra to support and continue the orchestral experience for students and other members who are on campus over the summer. Note that auditions for Stanford Summer Orchestra and for the 2014-2015 SSO/SPO seasons are separate; more information can be found below for each of the auditions.

Audition information for 2014- 2015 Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Philharmonia Orchestra
Auditions excerpts and times for the 2014-2015 SSO and SPO seasons will be announced in June or July 2014. Auditions typically take place during New Student Orientation for incoming freshman and the first week of classes for returning students and other members, so it is important to prepare over the summer prior to arriving on campus. Auditions consist of a solo work of your choice, as well as chosen orchestral excerpts, which will also be released in June or July 2014. Please sign up below if you would like to be notified when audition excerpts have been posted and when audition sign-ups are open. Please feel free to contact us at email@example.com if you have any questions.
