STUDENT GROUPS

From prehealth societies to organizations with a particular health-related focus, a number of student groups are available at Stanford to provide resources for further exploring your interests in a non-classroom setting.

Stanford AMSA: Premed Chapter

Chicanos/Latinos in Health Education
Chicanos/Latinos in Health Education (CHE), was started in 1972 after recognition of the need to increase the number of Chicano/Latino premedical students. The central purpose of CHE is to provide academic, professional, cultural, and social support to Chicanos and Latinos pursuing careers in the areas of science and medicine while at Stanford University. Our fundamental goal is to promote the education of culturally aware physicians, scientists, and health care providers by instilling members with a sense of duty toward the community. CHE offers academic resources as well as opportunities for community service and mentorships through involvement with local health fairs, the Center of Excellence, Arbor Free Clinic, Pacific Free Clinic, and Stanford med student mentors. You do not have to be pre-med or Chicano/Latino to join.

Native Americans in Medicine

Stanford Black Premedical Organization

Stanford Predental Association
The Stanford Predental Association (SPDA) is an organization dedicated to helping students make an informed decision about pursuing a career in dentistry. We inform students about the dental field through various activities and provide information about the dental school admission process. We hope to increase predental awareness of what a career in dentistry entails, to prepare Stanfords predental students to be stronger candidates for dental school, and to create a supportive environment where predental students can contribute to the greater body of knowledge of Stanfords predental community.

Stanford Prepharmacy Association (Coming Soon!)
The Stanford Prepharmacy Association aims to unite students interested in pursuing pharmacy and create a supportive prepharmacy community at Stanford University. Our mission is to help prepare students for a pharmacy career by providing essential information and facilitating enriching activities. As a new organization, we hope to reach out to the greater prehealth community at Stanford to encourage awareness of the pharmacy profession and help students make an informed decision about pursuing a career in pharmacy.
