Stanford Finishes First and Third at '08 Stanford Invitational

For the first time in the history of the Stanford Invitational, a Stanford team took home the top honors. In yet another first-time feat, Stanford placed two teams in the top five of the tournament!

Congratulations to Mark Baller '08, Jonas Jacobson '09, Kevin Rooney '09, and Elena Coyle '10 for winning the tournament with an undefeated record, and to Jim Alexander '08, Samantha Bateman '10, Rakesh Kilaru '10, and Jennifer Robinson '09 for finishing in third place.

Stanford fielded three other teams at the tournament who represented Stanford with remarkable talent and poise. Mark Hernandez '10, Jordana Mosten '10, Nick Stanley '09, and Josh Weddle '10 stepped up to the plate against some tough competition. Scott Campbell '08, Charles McKeown '09, Lillian Pan '09, and Kevin Papay '10 came within points of defeating the highest-scoring team in the tournament. And Cameron Johnson '09, Eric Osborne '10, Evan Pena '09, and Crystal Perl '10 comprised an excellent team of first-time performers. Congratulations to all of them!

The tournament would not have been possible without the dedication of Blake Bailey, Ben Ratner, Jeremy Presser, Alisha Beltramo, Amanda Bonn, and Rachel Juarez.
