Dr. Jeffrey’s lab focuses on breast cancer genomics research and the metastatic process in cancer. Her lab has developed a robotic technology, the MagSweeper, that isolates live rare cells from blood with 100% purity. Using this technology, the Jeffrey lab is characterizing circulating tumor cells (CTCs) at the single cell level to i) define different populations of cancer cells that are released from tumors and their metastases, and ii) to personalize cancer care by investigating which CTC molecular phenotypes predict response to specific therapies.
