Submission Guidelines
- A quality article should make a clear and compelling argument, convey the topic’s significance within the broad context of its field, provide a balanced analysis, demonstrate knowledge of the subject area, and be written in a coherent and engaging manner.
- As a generalist publication, SJEAA asks that authors avoid technical jargon as much as possible. Authors should assume an audience who is familiar with the East Asian region but who may not be specialists in a particular field.
- Authors should follow the Chicago Manual of Style (The University of Chicago Press) format for references and endnotes. The Manual should also be consulted for questions of style, grammar, punctuation, and form.
- Authors must provide complete references with their submissions, including page citations.
- Submissions will be evaluated on an anonymous basis. To avoid potential conflicts of interest, information identifying the author should only be included on the cover sheet and must not appear in the Word document.
- Submissions should be between 10 - 25 double-spaced, typescript pages. Please ensure that the title and page numbers are clearly marked on each page.
- We accept manuscripts with the understanding that its content is original and that it has not been accepted for publication or review elsewhere.
- The final decision to publish an article or refuse publication rests solely with the Editorial Board.
