The Stanford Open Source Lab was founded in November 2007 by a group of people from across Stanford who feel that openness matter. In its first year the number of people participating in the lab has grown past 50. Current visibility comes from the lab's open workshops . Work is taking place to expand the work into other areas such as software development, university policy work, open access publishing. Basically anything that will help open access to the knowledge we – at Stanford - produce and consume in whatever form that may take.
