MEDICAL GRAND ROUNDS - October 30, 1997 - FAIRCHILD - 8:00 a.m.
*** THE ROSE AND LOUIS SHENSON LECTURE ***
As one of our two Shenson Visiting Professors in the current academic year, we are honored to have Dr. John Sergent, Chief Medical Officer, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, participate in teaching and clinical affairs at Stanford this week. You will receive a brief summary of his career in the brochure distributed at Grand Rounds; I won't repeat it here.
"Science in the Courtroom: Lessons from the Silicone Breast Implant Story" -- This is the title of Dr. Sergent's talk. He happened to be President of the American College of Rheumatology at the time that the implant issue was on full boil. You will find Dr. Sergent's review of his immersion in this fracas both entertaining and informative.
