MEDICAL GRAND ROUNDS - THURSDAY, JUNE 5 - FAIRCHILD - 8:30a.m.
It is that time of year again, a time of transition. And in keeping with our tradition in Medicine, we will hear talks from our Chief Residents and have teaching awards presented to housestaff and faculty.
JANE LINDSAY will talk on the triad of problems that affects women athletes:
Jane is an athlete herself, but does it appropriately in moderation (except that there are many of us who believe that anyone who gets up to run in the morning in the dark - as Jane does - is not being moderate!). She will be doing a locum tenens for Mike Jacobs in SMG while Mike is on sabbatical, and then joining an internal medicine practice on Welch Road.
JASON MARX will give us an update on advances in treatment of ARDS, that nasty process that causes such morbidity and mortality in our ICU's. Jason (and his wife/rheumatologist Andrea) will be going to Baltimore on Friday. Jason will be at Johns Hopkins in his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
Both have done a superb job this year in balancing their roles as leader, enforcer, confidant, supporter, teacher.
