"Complementary Medicine" É a much better phrase, I think, than "Alternative Medicine" because it implies treatment IN ADDITION TO rather than INSTEAD OF the medicines that we physicians prescribe. This is an interesting area, the ferment of interest is high, and our patients are using alternative therapies whether we want them to or not, and frequently when we physicians don't know about it!
