MEDICAL GRAND ROUNDS - JANUARY 9 - 8:30a.m.

About a year ago I was asked to evaluate the current therapy of Mr. Christopher Waddell, who had a diagnosis of ROSAI-DORFMAN DISEASE ... Rosie who? What?!! ... I'd never heard of this illness. Fortunately there are two people on this part of the planet who know lots about it - the patient, and Ron Dorfman, our esteemed emeritus Professor of Pathology who is the Dorfman of the Rosai-Dorfman Disease.

Fortunately (again), both Mr. Waddell and Dr. Dorfman will be at Grand Rounds to comment generically and specifically about Waddell's constellation that involves hemolytic anemia, anti-phospholipids, and the diagnosed sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy.

What causes it? My bet is an abnormality of apoptosis - and we have some data on that in Waddell. Come join us to give your opinions about what to do next to define in mechanistic terms what Ron Dorfman has done so elegantly in case collection and histopathology.
