I don't know what drives me to jump into 50 degree water in 50 degree weather and 15 knot winds, but I have to do it. OCD is a documentary about people who surf, skate, ski, and snowboard shot on location in Argentina, Wyoming, and California on brilliant super-8 and 16mm film.

Fill in the Blank

Stemming from my obsession with eavesdropping and misunderstanding, a film about those times when you just can't figure out what the hell is going on. Hopefully this movie will not be one of those times. Based largely around the director's personal highschool woes, Fill in the Blank follows fifteen characters through a chain of misconceptions with hilarious and dire consequences.

In the Jungle

A dark comedy about a university newspaper office that attempts to cover up the murder of a copy editor by claiming the man has become a foreign correspondent. In the end, everyone ends up better off, even the dead copy editor.

Patati Patata

Patati Patata, the French equivalent of "etc, etc," chronicles a day in the life of a seemingly misfit young woman as she moves about town, interacts with strangers, and even breaks into another's apartment. Her apparently inexplicable, patterned actions are accentuated by the original soundtrack and language tape voice-over.

Propane Rain

Propane Rain is a film about the San Francisco machine art group "The Seemen" and its founder Kal Spelltich. While exploring the themes of fire, fear, and audience participation, the film centers around a rare live show in the warehouse where Kal lives and works. The aesthetics of this piece push the documentary form in innovative directions.

Built around Tim Stonehocker's song "Altar", this music video conveys the intensity of a man's surrender to God and his consequent desire to proclaim Him. The viewer follows Tim on a spiritual journey which symbolically runs through particular parts of Stanford… but not without a fair share of 'creative' SFX!

Tommy's Big Day
Directed by Phil Flores (Student Filmmakers Workshop)

Tied up and gagged, Tommy finds himself in the clutches of a malevolent gangster. Recognizing the gangster as the same man he ran over a year ago, Tommy soon realizes that the gangster wants revenge. After slowly hinting at the real reasons behind the abduction, the gangster finally decides that Tommy must die. Mayhem quickly follows, leading to a fateful confrontation that leaves one of them destroyed and the other pulverized.

Welcome to Elsinore. The Warrior-King Horwendil is married to the Slave-Queen Gerutha after capturing her native Kingdom of Ethiopia. Gerutha bears their only son, Amleth. 18 years later, Horwendil has still not returned to Gerutha's bed. Meanwhile, his brother Claudius falls in love with Gerutha. This is the story of their love.

The protagonist is Erik Thompson whose test results determined that he will be a great architect. His mother, although given no options by the government, has to decide whether to let Erik go through the program.

On Tuesday, May 8th, 2001, one of Stanford's most controversial student elections took place. The Asian American Student Association (AASA) elected its first non-Asian chair-it's first Caucasian chair, Andrew MacDonald. Although Andrew ran unopposed he eventually resigned from the position because of the disruption this event caused within the Asian American community at Stanford. This documentary short explores the controversy and numerous viewpoints.
