-Are you a junior or a senior who wants to spend part of spring break getting ready for the next step? Then apply for the
2006 Stanford Hollywood Trip, brought to you the brand new student/alumni group Stanford in Entertainment (formerly Stanford Alumni in Entertainment) and the Stanford Film Society, Stanford in Entertainment and the Stanford Film Society are working together to offer ten Stanford students the opportunity to spend the second half of spring break learning about careers in the entertainment industry.
The trek begins in Los Angeles on the morning of
Wednesday, March 29 and ends the evening of Saturday, April 1. You will have to organize and pay for your own transportation to and from LA (plan on arriving and
checking in the night of Tuesday, March 28). Transportation between meetings and the hotel will be provided, and lodging will be arranged. The total cost for the trip (not including food or other such expenses) will be $195. You will also have to register as a member of the Stanford in Entertainment Alumni Network and pay a small fee (NO fee applies to be a member of the student group; this fee is specific to the trip).
In order to apply, please submit a
cover letter to stanfordhollywoodtrip2006@yahoo.com by February 11 explaining why you are interested in the trip and what aspect of the industry interests you the most. Along with the cover letter,
please attach a resume. Applications will be read by a committee of members of Stanford in Entertainment, and decisions will be emailed out by February 15. A deposit will have to be made no later than Feb 25. Due to liability and financial issues, this trip is restricted to registered students of Stanford University who have paid their SFS special fees, and preference will be given to applicants at least twenty-one years old (if you are a junior who is not yet 21, it may be possible for you to attend provided that you sign a waiver, so please apply if you are interested) If you have any questions, send them to
