Webmaster:
SEED programming is very flexible and you can teach your students whatever you're excited about (animals, space exploration, the water cycle, whatever). However, if you're looking for ideas or want to try to match your lesson plans with the California Science Standards, check out the following information.

California Science Standards

SEED Supplimentary Curricula

The following links give exemplary lesson plans for each grade:

4th Grade - Plants and Agriculture
    5th Grade - Environmental Resources

SEED is currently working to develop curricula for its 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes.  We hope that these resources will be helpful to all SEED volunteers in developing a strong theme and connection between the lessons they teach throughout the year.  SEED volunteers are also encouraged to incorporate the science standards for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders into their lessons.  Please work closely with your classroom's teacher to determine what mix of the SEED curricula, the California science standards, and/or other curricula would be best for your classroom.

There is still much work to be done, so if you have any comments or additions to make to these curricula, please let us know! Thanks to Elliott Cambell for all of the work he has done on these curricula so far.  If you reprint these resources, we'd appreciate if you gave credit to his work and the Stanford Students for Environmental Education.
