SECURE COMPUTING

Stanford Information Security Policy Process

Stanford has an innovative design for information security which simultaneously incorporates varied user groups' computational needs and security concerns. The responsibility for Stanford information security policies flows from the University President through the management chain-of-command to the CIO. In addition, computer security issues are considered via working groups comprised of computer and network security specialists and representatives from throughout Stanford, including the Hospitals, Schools, SLAC, and students. This dual-route for information security issues is diagrammed in the Stanford University Information Security Policy Process.
