12:15 PM - 1:05 PM
Yang & Yamazaki Environment & Energy Building (Y2E2)
Room 111

Sustainable Silicon Valley (SSV) is a consortium of businesses, research, governmental and non-profit institutions working to build a more sustainable region and world. How can a small but spunky non-profit facilitate and inspire change? Using meetings, case studies, social media and pilot projects, SSV brings together people across institutional, discipline and sector boundaries to invent, develop and implement the products, services, systems and infrastructure needed to shift from a "me-first" take-make-waste economy to a regenerative economy built on principles of cradle-to-cradle design and the restoration of neighborliness.

Bio: Ms. Grossman’s previous roles include Partner for Sustainability and Innovation for Minerva Consulting; investor in high tech startups; and corporate roles in the automotive, computer and semiconductor industries. She founded the Palo Alto Unified School District Sustainable Schools Committee and was convener of the Peninsula/South Bay Working Group of California Interfaith Power and Light. She is a member of Environmental Entrepreneurs. She earned an MBA from Yale University and a BA, cum laude, with distinction in Policy Studies from Dartmouth College.

More: EcoCloud, a project of Sustainable Silicon Valley (SSV) in conjunction with public and private sector partners.
