HOTELS

Participants of the RC28 meeting need to arrange for their own accommodations. To simplify the process, we have made arrangements with several local hotels. We recommend that you make your reservation as soon as possible. There is a time limit for reserving the rooms that have been set aside for our use. Please read carefully the information about each hotel and then contact your selected hotel to make reservations. Rooms have been set aside for us at the following hotels:

The historic Cardinal Hotel delivers an elegant, nostalgic atmosphere in culturally diverse Downtown Palo Alto. Outside the doors, the lively tree-lined streets along University Avenue are home to eclectic cafes, excellent restaurants, unique bookstores, art galleries and boutiques. The hotel is located 1 mile from Stanford University and the Stanford Shopping Center. Amenities include: complimentary tea/coffee/cocoa in the lobby, high-speed wireless internet access, complimentary incoming fax, a copy of USA Today (Monday - Friday), as well as on-site laundry facilities.

We have 40 rooms reserved at this hotel. Twenty of these are double rooms with private baths ($140 + tax) and another twenty are European-style rooms with shared hallway baths ($75 + tax). These rooms have been blocked under the name RC28 CONFERENCE and are available to us until July 6th.

The Stanford Guest House is located a slight distance from the center of campus. It provides hotel-style accommodations at non-Palo Alto rates. It offers wireless and wired internet access, air conditioning, free parking, shuttle service throughout campus, a fitness center, a 24-hour front desk, laundry room, dry cleaning services, and complimentary weekend pastries.

We have reserved 30 standard rooms (with one full size bed in each) at the rate of $89 per night. The deadline for making reservations at the Stanford Guest House is June 1, 2008.

The deadline for making reservations at the Stanford Terrace Inn is July 1, 2008. After this date, our hold on the blocked rooms will disappear.

The deadline for making reservations at the Sheraton Hotel is July 1, 2008. We will lose our block (and our special rate) after this date; however, you may continue to reserve a room on your own at the current rate.
