Farm Liaisons



Plot Coordinator / New Farmer Liaison:

This role is primarily responsible for coordinating the waiting list of interested farmers with plots as they become available and for providing a general farm orientation to any such new farmers.


Student / Farm Educator Liaison:
Kate Maher, kmaher@stanford.edu

This role is primarily responsible for communicating with the Farm Educator to coordinate any student involvement in the farm beyond the specific role of the Farm Educator (volunteer work, special projects, etc.).


Website / List-Serve Liaison:
Kathy Richards, richards@stanford.edu

This role is primarily responsible for initiating efforts to move website development forward.


Treasury Liaison:

This role is primarily responsible for collecting plot fees and disbursing funds as approved by the community.


Compost Liaison:

This role is primarily responsible for coordinating composting efforts at the farm.


Communal Areas and Tools Liaison:

This role is primarily responsible for coordinating efforts to upkeep communal areas of the farm (the paths, orchard, greenhouse, etc.) and for maintaining the inventory of communal tools and equipment.


Maintenance and Stanford Facilities Liaison:
Dwight Harbaugh, harbaugh@slac.stanford.edu and Elizabeth Miller, elmiller@stanford.edu

This role is primarily responsible for coordinating structural maintenance (for example, irrigation) and working with Stanford Facilities (to among other things process woody debris into chips).


Organic Farming Education Liaison:

This role is primarily responsible for responding to community demand for educational events and for coordinating such events with members of the community that have relevant knowledge.


Pest Control Liaison:

This role is primarily responsible for maintaining an ecologically healthy balance of pests at the farm, including rats, gophers, and ground squirrels.


Graduate Student Plot Coordinator & Liaison:

This role involves keeping an updated plot map and contact info for current grad student plot holders, maintaining the grad student waiting list, assigning grad plots when they become available, giving new grad plot holders a tour, a copy of the farm guidelines, and I help to set them up with a key to the shed.
