You can help. As
a new initiative dedicated to crossing boundaries between units
within the university and opening avenues between the university
and the public, ARC will need the support of many constituencies,
both on campus and in the community. If you have an interest
in furthering the study and appreciation of the religions and
cultures of Asia, please consider joining us in this venture.
Programming. The
ARC initiative is primarily a facilitator of the interests of
its various constituencies. It seeks to bring related interests
together, to build working connections among groups, and to translate
ideas into actual programs. Such programs can range across a
broad spectrum, from curriculum support for a particular Asian
language, culture or religion, to lectures, exhibits, symposia,
and other public events. If you have suggestions for programs
that might be appropriate for ARC, please share them with us
and join with us in making them happen. For examples of the type
of programs we are developing, see our Programs page.
| Funding. The ARC initiative was developed through a four-year
startup grant from the university President's Fund, with additional
support from SCBS, Religious Studies, and the School of Humanities
and Sciences. In order to develop a full range of programs, the
initiative will need help from other sources; in order to endure
as a permanent fixture of the university, it will need an endowment.
If you or your organization would like to support the ARC mission
or any of its programs, please consider a contribution to the
initiative. Contributions may range from one-time support for
a particular event, through sponsorship of the teaching of a
particular Asian language, culture or religion, to endowment
of the initiative or one of its programs. For information, see
Giving to Arc. |
