The Stanford Savoyards cordially invite YOU to audition
for their spring show, Gilbert & Sullivan's The Yeomen of
the Guard! You may audition on any of the following days:
- Tuesday, January 22 7-9:30pm in BRAUN 103
- Wednesday, January 23 7-9:30pm in BRAUN 106
- or Saturday, January 26 11am-1:30pm in BRAUN
106
(all audition and performance locations are on the
Stanford Campus)
Auditions are open to all!
Singers: Please prepare one song in English and
bring two copies of the sheet music: one for yourself, and
one for the accompanist. If you don't have a song, you can
sing "Happy Birthday" or "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" -- just something to show us you can carry a tune. No monologue required; readings will be assigned from the script.
Dancers: Please wear clothing you can move freely in. You will learn some
brief choreography, or you can bring a short prepared piece
in a movement style of your choice.
We will be in White Plaza on campus from noon to 1pm during the week
before auditions -- come sign up for a time slot then, or
just come to the auditions!
Pending approval, performances will be held April 18, 19, 26, and 27,
2008. This is a fully-staged show with a FULL ORCHESTRA.
Rehearsals will begin on Monday, January 28, and
will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays from
7pm to 10pm, as well as Saturdays from 11am to 2pm.
With the exception of Tech Week in April, cast members
will generally not be called to all rehearsals in a
given week. As can be expected, chorus members and
leads will be called for different amounts of time based
on the size of their parts.
