Patrick first earned degrees in Pharmacy and in Biology from the University of Liège in Belgium (Belgium is a small country that has been invaded even more times than France and where people eat waffles). He then went on to do a Ph.D. in the lab of Alain Chariot. For his post-doc, Patrick and his soon-to-be-(Italian)wife agreed that the California weather was worth a try. Patrick eventually ended up by mistake in the Sage lab. Since then, he has been trying to work with as many people as possible outside the Sage lab, fairly successfully. Patrick is currently a Human Frontiers fellow.
Patrick's projects include exploring the role of RB family genes in stem cells, focusing on the hematopoietic system and the liver. He spends his time at the FACS machine. |
