Do you have knee pain?

If you have knee pain when pressing your knees together, or have been told you have knee arthritis, you are invited to participate in a Stanford / VA study. Researchers are looking for volunteers who are willing to wear a sports sneaker for one year. Half of the participants will wear sneakers that have a special sole. Participants must be able to walk without aids, such as a cane or walker.

You may qualify for the study if you:

  1. Are willing to wear a sport sneaker as your main shoe for 1 year
  2. Do not have serious foot, ankle, back, or hip problems
  3. Can walk without a cane or walker

Participation includes 4 visits to the VA and/or Stanford over 1 year.

Please contact Barbara Elspas at 650/849-1252 for information on participating in this study.
