La Casa Italiana Façade

Pasta?
University Avenue
Palo Alto, CA

Around $7-$12 per main course

FOOD. Did you like what you ordered? Was there a wide selection? Were there vegetarian options, if that matters to you? How Italian was it, or was it more Italian-American?

I actually liked the pesto gnocchi a lot -- tasted like Jose's! They have a lot of veggie cuisine. It didn't taste really Italian, but it was good nonetheless.

ATMOSPHERE. How was it? Quiet and romantic? Noisy? Crowded or spacious? Music selection and volume? Attire -- fancy or casual?

Not romantic at all. Very fast-paced setting. Casual attire.

ITALIAN-NESS. Could you still just not escape that feeling that Palo Alto was close by? Or did the waiters and waitresses actually speak Italian, and look at you funny if you tried to order two primi instead of a secondo? How Italian was it?

In the heart of downtown Palo Alto, it's hard to imagine being in Italy. The waiters are Italian, but still ...

PRICE. Average numbers are more useful than "cheap"/"expensive" here. Were main courses $0-$10, $10-20, above $20? What about appetizers or wine?

Main courses ranged from $7-$12, I think. Wine and appetizers were not too expensive.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO TELL US! Anything, really.

This place is a fun walk-in pasta joint.
