Priority and Pre-Assignment Resident Contract
All priority residents sign a contract that requires:
- joining an East Fest committee. East Fest is an annual four-day cultural event put on by East House.
- attend East House Seminar (EastAsn 5) for one quarter. House seminars focus on selected topics related to East Asia. Past topics have included religions, food, and pop culture. The 1-unit seminar is conducted by the ATAs and offered in winter and spring quarters.
- present a theme project OR attend East House Seminar during both winter and spring quarters. Theme projects are 15-20 minute presentations designed to teach the rest of the dorm about a particular aspect of East Asia. Projects are usually presented after dinner Monday through Thursday. Residents may work in groups of two, in which case the presentation length should be 30-40 minutes.
