Josef Haydn: “The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross” with the St. Lawrence String Quartet

In its third annual Good Friday free performance, the St. Lawrence String Quartet performs Haydn’s reflection on Jesus’ final hours, each of the seven movements punctuated with scriptural readings by the Rev. Scotty McLennan, Stanford’s Dean for Religious Life. A collaboration of the Office for Religious Life, the Department of Music and Stanford Live. Free, tickets not required.

Compline

A reflective 30-minute service of hymns and chant sung in the tranquil candlelit ambiance of Memorial Church. All religious and non-religious backgrounds welcome.
