Introducing Yi-Li Lin...

I’m a visiting scholar in CEE for one year starting from March 2008.  After receiving my Ph.D. in the Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Taiwan University, I spent seven months working as postdoctoral researcher in the National Taiwan University, and then being selected as a recipient of the Postdoctoral Research Abroad Program sponsored by the National Science Council in Taiwan.  Thanks to the support, I can work with dedicated researchers in Stanford and experience wonderful American life here.

My research interests focus on the formation and control of disinfection by-products (DBPs) in drinking water treatment process.  When pursuing my Ph.D. degree, I investigated the formation of DBPs (disinfection by-products) in a water treatment plant, the performance and removal mechanisms of DBPs precursors by nanofiltration process, and the establishment of performance evaluation system on water treatment plants.  In the meantime, I was also involved in the evaluation of drinking water quality standards and integration of drinking water management acts in Taiwan.  Hope the research results can be applied to improve and ensure public drinking water safety.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, cooking, and the great outdoors such as swimming, hiking, and biking.
