Yosemite: Starr King Peak: Nov. 21-23, 2003

Before Nov. 21, tons of people wanted to go to on the trip with the legendary and one and only globetrotter, Diederik Marius (see above for picture). Yet, after a world-wide panic of SARS, failing crops, and man-eating gophers (people had IHUM papers to write), the five toughest survivors (the greatest slackers at Stanford) emerged:

Leaving the quaint village of Stanford on Friday, Nov. 21, the small group of five reached Yosemite late at night to enjoy a quiet night at Lower Pines Camp. After a refreshing night, the group embarked on the Happy Isles Trail toward Starr Kings Peak for two days of adventure.

In the next two days, the courageous group fought off titan-sized wolves (saw coyotes), climbed ice-covered mountains (passed by icicles), and traveled to Hell and back (roasted yummy hot dogs).

The scariest part of the trip occurred when the two eccentric leaders ran off into the country, only to return half naked and hungry.

Luckily, they survived, and so did the rest of the group. So all in all, it wasn't too bad of a Redwood trip.
