Gear Reservation/Rental Policy

Unfortunately, we are unable to take reservations.

Rental Policy

• Each person may rent a maximum of $1000 worth or gear. That means: if you need gear for a larger group you need to bring multiple people and multiple deposit checks.
• Gear rental is for one week. We are willing to make exceptions and let people borrow gear for multiple weeks for personal trips involving small amounts of gear. The final decision is left to the person in charge at gear hours.
• We only take cash or check. Remember to bring multiple checks so that you can leave one for the deposit.

Rental Policy (for busy days)

We are happy to fill gear requests received any time before 9 pm (or the end of gear hours). We cannot guarantee that the gear will be available, so it might be wise to come early (i.e. 8:20 pm) especially on popular backpacking days like Thanksgiving, spring break, and the beginning of the quarter.

• Everyone who wants to be in the gear rental lottery must turn in a gear rental sheet by 8:30 PM (or the start of the rental part of gear hours).
• These sheets are then chosen and filled in random order.
• Any sheets turned in after 8:30 PM will be filled after the first round lottery on a first-come, first-serve basis.
