Gear Rental

Redwood has a variety of outdoor gear available for rental by Stanford students, faculty, and staff. Equipment is rented for one week, from Wednesday to Wednesday. Rental period may be longer over vacation periods. For more info contact the gear people at .

Gear Rental Hours for Summer '08 (at the gear shed)

Wednesday
8:00 pm - 8:30 pm Gear Returns
8:30 pm - 9:00 pm Gear Rentals

• Gear returned after 8:30 PM will have a one-week late fee equal to the weekly rental cost.
• Bring a checkbook. You will need one check to pay and one for the deposit (we also accept cash).
• Check the website regularly and/or subscribe to the redwood email list as gear hours are subject to change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have any gear hours except on Wednesdays?
A: No. If you want gear, you have to come on Wednesday. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Q: My organization needs 27 sleeping bags and 14 tents. Can I reserve these?
A: No. We do not take reservations for gear. You have to come to gear hours and hope for the best. REI also rents gear if it is a concern.

Q: I returned my tent without tentpoles and you guys wanted to keep my deposit check - what gives? You gave me that tent without any tentpoles!
A: We try to make sure all the gear has all its pieces when we give it to you, but you're responsible for making sure of this before you leave gear hours. If the tent comes back without poles, we have to assume you lost them!
