Study break: Milkshakes Monday 06/09/2008 at 9:00pm CA Contact: Nate (nan4@stanford.edu) On January 1st, 2008, when I woke up to the radio, I was pleasantly surprised by the dulcet tones of Kelis and her popular song, "Milkshake." I didn't know what this "yard" she was referring to was but I knew that I had to get there. So I did the only reasonable thing I could think of, I decided to drink as many milkshakes as I could as I searched for the "yard." I'm currently sitting at 2.6 milkshakes per week and I can feel that every one I drink brings me closer. Come join me in my quest. I can teach you, and I won't charge. You'll be pleasantly surprised. It's better than studying. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Study break: Mrs. Field's cookies Tuesday 06/10/2008 at 9:00pm CA Contact: Stephen (sprussel@stanford.edu) Come to the last study break of the year and eat some of the best cookies on the planet! This was one of the most popular study breaks last quarter and we're bringing it back with a vengeance. Whether you're all done with finals and just rewarding your self for your efforts or you've still got one left and you're eating to dull the pain, hope to see you there! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- o 2 Study Breaks at the GCC! - Enjoy FREE snacks and drinks. - Take a break from studying and come have fun with other grad students! - Dates: Wednesday June 4 and Sunday June 8, 2008 - Time: 8:00pm - 9:00pm - Event location: 2nd floor of the GCC (750 Escondido) o Free Dinner at Madison & 5th for History & Education Grad Students - June 06,2008, 6:15pm - 8:00pm - Try a taste of New York right here in Palo Alto! - Open to grad students in the History Department and the School of Education - Come join us for dinner at the fabulous Madison & 5th restaurant on University Ave on Friday, June 6th at 6:15pm. - Open to grad students in the History Department and the School of Education. - GSPB is sponsoring 15 people to attend. - Last day to RSVP is Thursday, June 5th.
